From www.dallaswinecomp.com

The 2008 Vintage of wines produced at The Mandola Estate Winery has been a milestone achieving group. In 2008, the first for Mandola Winemaker Dave Reilly, 100% Texas grown grapes were used in all Mandola Wines for the second consecutive year. Along with using all Texas grown fruit, the 2008 vintage was also the first to employ the use of grapes grown at the Mandola Estate Vineyards, which can be tasted in the 2008 Mandola “Spino” Montepulciano. The 2008 vintage is also the first vintage year in which the Mandola Wines have been entered into several international wine competitions.
Upon competing and winning medals at both the Houston Livestock and Rodeo International Wine Competition and the San Antonio Express News International Wine Competition, the results from the Dallas Morning News International Wine Competition have been the best to date. Out of the more than 3000 entries - these are the medals won for Mandola Wines in the competition:
Mandola Estate Winery 2008 Montepulciano – GOLD
Mandola Estate Winery 2008 Dolcetto – SILVER
Mandola Estate Winery 2008 Aglianico – SILVER
Mandola Estate Winery 2008 Moscato – BRONZE
