Dinner for 200+ at Jolie Vue Farms, Brenham, Texas

Duchman Family Viognier, Vermentino, Dolcetto, Montepulciano, and Orange Muscat were served yesterday evening at a dinner for 200+ persons presented by Outstanding in the Field, Cullen’s American Grille Houston, and Jolie Vue Farms in Brenham, Texas.

Chef Paul Lewis of Cullen’s sourced all of the ingredients for this unforgettable gastronomic event from local growers (click here for a PDF of the menu, including all the purveyors).

Delightful hosts Glen and Honey Boudreaux, owners of Jolie Vue Farms, spoke to the simpatico crowd about their philosophy of no-nonsense, humane and wholesome farming and ranching.

There were just too many great photos to post. So, we created this YouTube slideshow (above) to document this truly unique and overwhelmingly delicious event.

Founder of Outstanding in the Field, artist Jim Devenan, posed for our cameras with food and wine lover Gina Rebich, from Tyler Texas, who was attending her first Jolie Vue Farms event (Outstanding in the Field has been presenting dinners there now for three years running). In keeping with the sustainable spirit of these events (which take place May through November across the country), many bring their own plates to the dinners, as Gina did. Jim drew her a sketch of their landscape and setting to commemorate the event.

Marguerite Schnitzer of Houston took time out to pose with Julio Hernández, president of D’Amore Wine Selections, distributor of the Duchman Family wines in Texas. That’s the famous Outstanding in the Field “tour bus” in the background.

The Houston Bagpiper added a flourish to the presentation of the main course, roast pork sourced from the Jolie Vue ranch.
