Winemaker Dave Reilly’s harvest notes
The following are notes from winemaker Dave Reilly, in chronological order, starting from the most recent (posted about 16 hours ago).

We are pressing 2012 Vermentino tonight!!!! The fruit looks gorgeous! Those Bingham boys sure do now how to run a mechanical harvester!

Harvest 2012 Day 8: I wish all of you could smell the cellar right now! We are pressing 20 tons of muscat grapes, the smell of harvest never gets old! I live for this stuff.

Harvest 2012 Day 5: we received some beautiful Pinot Grigio from Reddy Vineyards this morning, it has been pressed and is now in the tank to settle. Some people don’t know that the Pinot Grigio grape can be many different colors (mostly purple) but the color of the skin is not stable and the result is a white wine.

Harvest Day 4: Scott Gallagher from Limestone Terrace Vineyard has arrived with Cab, it looks awesome!!!! [Editor's note: Dave planted this vineyard himself.]

Harvest Day 3: added yeast to the estate Vermentino, should be all fizzy in the morning. Made the BBQ Red blend for Saltlick Cellars, should be bottling that by mid week. Limestone Terrace Cab will be harvested in the am. Here we go…

Harvest 2012 Day 2: checking out Sangiovese and Cab at Limestone Terrace Vineyard in Wimberley. Both look great, hope to be harvesting Cab Tuesday, Sangiovese will hang a little longer.

whats the big shiny tank on wheels out back? Are you going to do portable fermentation or something?
