Outdoor Movie Night: Bottle Shock
On THURSDAY August 30th at 8:30pm Duchman Family Winery presents the story of the early days of California wine making. Do you know about the ”Judgement of Paris”?
BOTTLE SHOCK, as voted by our Facebook fans plays in our outdoor field, so bring your blankets or lawn chairs AND we will provide the bug spray and full menu of wines to purchase.
Our FINAL movie night this summer proves to be the best with SPECIAL wine case pricing onsite! (See our Tasting Room for details.) Live music will play prior to the movie and SOUTHERN’S Fine Dining will be serving throughout the night.

Fodor’s calls 2010 Vermentino “superlative”
“The 2010 Vermentino is superlative,” writes Jordan Simon in a blog this week on Fodor’s, “with whiffs of wisteria and sage as well as lime zest and bosc pear. The dense, dark Fall Creek 2008 Meritus Bordeaux-style blend is jamming with forest fruits and earthiness; their Chenin Blanc is a steal, too.”

Harvest update: “Miles to go before we sleep”…

August 16 (evening) — Crushed 22 tons of Tempranillo from Bayer Family Vineyard and now babysitting everything else that is fermenting. And miles to go before we sleep. And miles to go before we sleep.
August 16 (morning) — Evening pump over and seed removal on Dolcetto, making our way down the line…
August 15 — No rest for the weary. We have finished up in the cellar for the night and will start bottling in the early am hours. Should wrap up bottling in time for the truck to roll up with Tempranillo grapes from Bayer Family Vineyards. If you haven’t been out to the winery in a while, it’s a good time to visit, lots of wine in the tasting room and lots of activity in the cellar.
